On Thursday, June 4, the team announced in a post on X, "XRP Ledger 3.2.0 is coming soon!" Additionally, they announced an important modification to the main software of the network. The announcement states that "the core software powering the XRPL is changing its name from rippled to xrpld."

"XRP Ledger 3.2.0 is coming soon! The core software powering the XRPL is changing its name from rippled to xrpld. This transition will require some updates for infrastructure operators. The visual also showcases the re-branding of the software package which drives the XRP Ledger and highlights the new version due to be released.

The news was well received by dUNL validator Vet, who emphasized the need for protocol development even amidst market volatility. "Market sentiment is temporary, but the core protocol improvements that our $XRP and other assets live on are permanent," Vet wrote. He went on to spotlight that "in this upcoming upgrade the major name transition from rippled to xrpld will happen." He also thanked the network developers, adding, "Grateful for the consistent work of all the XRP core developers."
