Hedera has secured a gig as an official partner for the upcoming 250th Anniversary Commemoration of the United States of America. The news dropped from America250, the national nonpartisan organization tasked by Congress with orchestrating the massive patriotic party.
America250 picked Hedera because it’s committed to pushing innovation in the U.S. The blockchain network is set to support the anniversary through community engagement, storytelling, and tech-driven experiences. The objective is to make the "Semiquincentennial" accessible to every American via programs that build national unity and toast the country's history, presumably without the usual boring history lectures.
Mance Harmon, co-founder of Hedera, highlighted the network's role with a bit of veteran grit. "As U.S. Air Force veterans and technologists, Dr. Leemon Baird and I founded Hedera after seeing a gap in the market," Harmon stated. "The blockchain company helps make digital interactions secure, transparent, and verifiable. With the country nearing its 250th anniversary, we're excited to work with America250 to help more people take part in the celebration." Basically, they’re swapping muskets for cryptographic hashing.
America250 noted Hedera's governance by the Hedera Council, which ensures long-term stability through oversight—because nothing says "stable" like a council of big brains watching the ledger. The network was chosen for its combination of institutional governance, scalable technology, and built-in compliance, proving that you can actually have your institutional cake and eat it too.
Rosie Rios, Chair of America250, commented on the partnership with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for bull runs.
